The Chief, his respected Elders, and the entire people of Agona-Bipoa proudly invite you to the 2026 Agona-Bipoa Yam Festival, taking place from Friday, the 28th of August to Friday, the 4th of September, 2026.
This year’s festival promises a spectacular week filled with tradition, unity, excitement, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences for people of all ages. Whether you are returning home to celebrate with family or visiting Agona-Bipoa for the very first time, prepare yourself for an incredible celebration of our rich heritage and vibrant community spirit.
The festivities begin on Friday, 28th August, with the much-anticipated Float Walk, proudly supported by Adonko. Join hundreds of enthusiastic participants as they fill the streets of Agona-Bipoa with music, dancing, colorful outfits, laughter, and positive energy. It’s more than a walk—it’s a grand celebration that brings the entire community together in unity and joy.
The excitement continues from Monday, 31st August through Thursday, 3rd September, with thrilling sporting and recreational activities designed for everyone. Cheer on your favorite teams during exciting football matches, test your skills in competitive games of ludo, cards, and oware, and enjoy many more entertaining activities that will keep the festival atmosphere alive throughout the week. Every event offers an opportunity to connect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate together as one community.
Then comes the grand climax!
On Friday, 4th September, witness the magnificent Grand Durbar, the highlight of the Agona-Bipoa Yam Festival. Experience the beauty of our traditions as the Chief, Queen Mother, Elders, dignitaries, cultural groups, and people from far and near gather in a colorful display of pride, history, and unity. Enjoy traditional music, energetic cultural performances, beautiful regalia, and the timeless customs that make Agona-Bipoa truly special.
